Prior to founding Dyno, Eric led a team to develop the technology underlying Dyno’s artificial intelligence powered capsid engineering platform in George Church’s lab at the Wyss Institute of Harvard Medical School. There he measured the first comprehensive fitness landscape of the adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsid protein and co-discovered the AAV MAAP gene. He earned a PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University and a BS in Physics from Caltech. Under Eric’s leadership Dyno has raised over $100M in VC financing, including a 2021 Series A led by a16z and signed partnership with world-leading gene therapy companies (Novartis, Sarepta, Roche, Spark and Astellas). Dyno was named Xconomy’s 2020 Startup of the Year and Eric was recognized as one of Endpoint’s 20 under 40 next-gen biotech leaders in 2021.

Alan joined Polaris Partners in 2002 and serves as an entrepreneur partner focused on building and investing in healthcare companies. He has served as founder, chairman and/or CEO in building eight Polaris companies.  Prior to Dyno, Alan founded Pandion Therapeutics, which raised a $58M series A and is focused on tissue-specific immunomodulation for autoimmune disorders and transplantation. Alan was also a founding investor in KSQ Therapeutics, the leading company using CRISPR to discover the best therapeutic targets for disease intervention.  The company has raised over $150M, including a crossover round. Alan’s portfolio companies have collectively been involved in 9 IPOs and M&A exits. Previously, Alan was president and CEO of Momenta Pharmaceuticals. He joined Momenta as the fifth employee and built it into a public company, creating an advanced and diversified pipeline, entering into two strategic collaborations with Novartis and raising $275 million.  The first product from Momenta’s pipeline achieved over $1B in sales during its first year. Alan received Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award for New England for this work. Prior to Polaris, Alan was senior VP of corporate development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for generating over $2B in partner funding and acquiring 19 development stage products. Among these products was Velcade®, which became the main basis of the company’s $9B acquisition by Takeda. Alan earned a BA in biology, summa cum laude,an MA in biology, and an MBA from Harvard. He also spent two years studying towards an MD at Harvard Medical School.

Sam is a computational biologist with expertise in evolution and machine learning.  He received his PhD under George Church and Martin Nowak at Harvard, where he used mathematics and machine learning to develop models of biological systems. In particular, he developed the underpinnings of Dyno’s machine learning strategy in collaboration with Eric, and has co-authored multiple papers on the subject. He previously obtained his B.S. and M.Eng. in computer science at MIT with a focus on A.I., and had a brief stint in medical school.  Sam enjoys techno, soccer, and philosophy.

Adrian is a biologist most satisfied by combining experimental and computational approaches to study complex systems. He obtained his PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University, working with Prof. Douglas Melton on differentiating pancreatic beta cells in vitro to create cell-based therapies for diabetes. He collaborated closely with Semma Therapeutics on applying single-cell RNA sequencing to map in vitro beta cell differentiation, and pooled genetic screening to control this process. He graduated summa cum laude with an A.B. in Physics and Chemistry from Harvard College, during which he studied the evolutionary dynamics of antibiotic resistance in microbes. He holds an MD with Honors from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. Adrian loves to cook, travel and hike and always enjoys a good new board game.

George is Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and Professor of Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is Director of the U.S. Department of Energy Technology Center and Director of the National Institutes of Health Center of Excellence in Genomic Science.  George leads Synthetic Biology at the Wyss Institute, where he oversees the directed evolution of molecules, polymers, and whole genomes to create new tools with applications in regenerative medicine and bio-production of chemicals. Among his recent work at the Wyss is development of a technology for synthesizing whole genes, and engineering whole genomes, far faster, more accurate, and less costly than current methods. George is widely recognized for his innovative contributions to genomic science and his many pioneering contributions to chemistry and biomedicine. In 1984, he developed the first direct genomic sequencing method, which resulted in the first genome sequence (the human pathogen, H. pylori). His many innovations have been the basis for a number of companies including Editas (Gene therapy); Gen9bio (Synthetic DNA); and Veritas Genetics (full human genome sequencing). He has received numerous awards including the 2011 Bower Award and Prize for Achievement in Science from the Franklin Institute and election to the National Academy of Sciences and Engineering.

Tomas is a tenured Associate professor of Neuroscience at Lund University in Sweden. He is the President of the Swedish Society for Neuroscience since 2016. His research focus is on the development of novel therapies for Parkinson’s disease, furthering our understanding of basal ganglia connectomics and developing novel genetic tools. This includes the development of novel AAV capsid engineering methods, spatial sequencing technologies, in vivo genome editing and massively parallel in vivo assays utilizing molecular barcoding and machine learning. Tomas is a founder of Genepod Therapeutics AB, translating gene therapy for Parkinson’s disease towards the clinic and is the inventor of a number of pending and awarded patents in gene therapy.

Helene is a molecular biologist with a background in genome engineering. She studied biology and bioinformatics as an undergraduate at Boston College, where she computationally explored the evolution of RNA folding kinetics. She spent two years in the Church Lab at Harvard Medical School developing methods to broaden the host specificity of “MAGE,” a high-efficiency multiplexed genome editing system. She enjoys painting, plant care, and eating lunch with her friends at Dyno.

Heikki is a seasoned molecular biologist with 8 years of academic and industry experience working with AAV vector development and clinical gene therapy approaches. He earned his MSc and PhD in genetics in University of Turku, Finland. As a postdoc in Dr. Luk Vandenberghe’s laboratory at Harvard Medical School he developed CombiAAV, a cloning method to generate AAV variant libraries. He’s also specialized in studying immunological responses against AAVs. In his spare time, he enjoys games, mosh pits and science fiction.

Cem is a molecular biologist with a background in developmental biology. He has completed his B.A. in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilkent University and earned his PhD in Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard. In his PhD work in Connie Cepko’s lab, he worked on elucidating the mechanisms cells use when they differentiate during development of the neural retina and developed methods for discovering DNA-protein interactions on regulatory sequences. He is an ex-pro gamer in Starcraft, and enjoys playing basketball and Ping-Pong in his spare time.

Chris is a high throughput vector production specialist for gene therapy development. He studied Biochemistry & Molecular Biology for a BS from Umass Amherst, and then spent two years at the Umass Med Gene Therapy Center in the Esteves Lab and two years with Obsidian Therapeutics. In the winter, Chris is an avid backcountry skier who settles for hiking in the summer.

Elina is a machine learning scientist with a background in theoretical physics. Before switching to biotech, she worked on investigating the effects of quantum mechanics in nanoscale systems. Elina obtained her PhD in Physics from the Free University of Berlin in Germany. She enjoys British comedy, playing basketball, and learning new languages.

Eran is a physician-scientist with expertise in human genomics and genome engineering. His research into the genetic pathogenesis of cancer has led to co-discovery of the TERT promoter mutations in human cancer and co-first author publications in Nature, Science, Cell, and Nature Genetics. Eran was recognized on the 2015 Forbes 30 under 30 list in Science and as a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow. He is a resident physician in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He holds an MD with Honors from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program at Harvard Medical School and a PhD in Biophysics from Harvard University.

Paige is an operations professional focused on management at the intersection of labs, data, and people. She earned a BA in Evolutionary Biology from CU Boulder and has applied her background in biology and chemistry managing academic labs at Harvard and MIT. Before joining Dyno, Paige helped develop the research and development platform at Finch Therapeutics, where she also oversaw the clinical sample pipeline and built an internal technical core. Her primary focus is on implementing practical systems and tools that enable early-stage biotechs to scale and thrive. She enjoys cooking, and excels in making cooking more difficult than strictly necessary.

Jamie Kwasnieski is a molecular biologist with expertise in high-throughput sequencing methods, computational biology, and RNA biology. She received her PhD in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from Washington University in St Louis where she developed a high-throughput multiplexed reporter assay to understand the grammar of regulatory DNA sequences. During her postdoctoral fellowship at MIT she studied the dynamics of RNA during early development. Jamie enjoys hiking, bird watching, and doing crosswords.

Daniela is a biochemist with a background in in vitro assay development. Prior to joining Dyno as part of the Gene Therapy Nonclinical team at Ultragenyx, she utilized in vitro assays to validate AAV vectors and their immunogenicity. Daniela received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biochemistry and Africana Studies from Smith College, where she studied drug design and explored the sociocultural impact of medicine on black women’s health. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the characterization of small engineered proteins for targeted cancer therapy. Daniela also spent a year at Yale as a postgraduate research associate, where she investigated the impact of pre-existing autoantibodies on immunotherapy outcomes in NSCLC clinical trials. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

Sam is a computational biologist with experience in experimental design and data analysis for high-throughput experiments. During his PhD in Systems Biology in Allon Klein’s lab at Harvard, Sam developed tools for analyzing single-cell RNA-sequencing data, focusing on artifact detection and data exploration. He was also deeply involved in work using single-cell methods to study blood cell differentiation, leading to the definition and characterization of early erythroid progenitors in the bone marrow. In his free time, Sam can be found running along the Charles River or hiking in New Hampshire.

Nishith is a vector production specialist. She has a strong background in molecular biology and immunology with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Pennsylvania State University. Her past research experience at the Naval Medical Research Center has been focused on vaccine development for infectious diseases including dengue, influenza and enteric diseases. She has previously worked as a medical communications specialist and enjoys writing about science. Nishith loves water sports and enjoys swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving.

Dylan Morris is a General Partner in CRV’s Bioengineering practice. He has led the firm’s investments in Dyno Therapeutics, Deciduous Therapeutics, Plexium, System1 Biosciences, Recursion Pharmaceuticals, and 3T Biosciences. He previously invested at Innovation Endeavors, an early-stage venture firm backed by Eric Schmidt, of Google/Alphabet. At IE, Dylan drove investments in several companies operating at the intersection of computing and biology, including Freenome, a CRV portfolio company applying deep learning to liquid biopsy for early cancer detection. Previously, he co founded Integrated Plasmonics, a venture-backed point-of-care diagnostics startup. Dylan conducted graduate research in Biophysics at Caltech and received an A.B. in Computer Science from Harvard.Dylan is passionate about accelerating the future of biology. He is excited about opportunities that leverage data to make biological engineering more tractable. He cares deeply about human health and is eager to explore creative ways to stimulate research and hasten the pace of biomedical innovation.

Jakub has a PhD in physics, and has many interests in statistical physics, immunology, evolution, and machine learning. He has published work on inferring sequence-function relationships, evolutionary dynamics, viruses, the adaptive immune system, and evolutionary optimization. He would like to learn to speak Farsi, and is into cheese-making, urbanism, and surrealism.

Tyson is a team-oriented servant leader committed to the success of our partners. He has earned a BS in Management from The United States Air Force Academy and an MBA from Arizona State University. He began his career in the Air Force leading teams across diverse environments, spanning from nuclear deterrence to R&D. Since departing active duty, Tyson has transitioned those experiences to serve R&D teams across both large and small Biopharma companies and alliances. Most recently, Tyson successfully implemented an agile team framework for the AAV research team at CRISPR Therapeutics. Tyson helps Dyno scale to exceed partner expectations while preserving organizational agility. Tyson enjoys spending time with his growing family in any remote outdoor environment.

Megan is a cellular and molecular biologist with experience in muscle biology and developing therapies for neuromuscular disorders. She earned her PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University where she worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to evaluate gene therapy approaches to muscular dystrophy and AAV immunogenicity in skeletal muscle. Prior to joining Dyno, she was a postdoctoral fellow in Pfizer’s Rare Disease Research Unit where she contributed to early drug discovery efforts for muscle disease indications. Megan enjoys the great outdoors, painting, and making others laugh at her bad jokes.

Mike is a molecular biologist, specializing in protein biochemistry, evolution, and engineering. He earned his PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University, where he worked with Gavin MacBeath to develop protein microarrays. During his postdoc with Rama Ranganathan at UT Southwestern, he pioneered approaches for characterizing protein variant libraries using high-throughput sequencing. Prior to joining Dyno, Mike was a senior scientist in Chris Sander’s group at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he introduced an experimental evolution method for determining protein structures. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, running, and growing carnivorous plants.

Shireen is a vector production specialist with a background in gene therapy bioprocess methods. She completed her BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign while working in a research lab focused on mammalian genome engineering using CRISPR-Cas9 technology. She has experience in molecular cloning and working in a GMP environment. Shireen enjoys listening to podcasts, solving riddles, and playing video games.

Carrie is an operations professional committed to solving problems with compassion, logic, and organization. After earning a MS from Simmons College in Information Science, she honed her management skills in the restaurant industry for the last decade. She is always seeking spaces that contribute to her community, who’s primary concerns are making a difference, and that encourage progress through innovation. When she isn’t at Dyno you can likely find her knitting a hat or reading at the beach.

Steve is a software engineer with a background in cloud infrastructure and data systems.  He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics.  He has a breadth of experience across renewable energy, aquatics research instrumentation, and professional services.  In his last role, Steve worked in consulting as a specialist in data warehousing where he designed complex analytics platforms using cutting edge cloud infrastructure.  Outside of technology, Steve can often be found outside getting his adrenaline up by snowboarding, rock climbing, or mountain biking.

Flaviu is a software engineer with a background in biological research and cloud infrastructure. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a BS in Bioinformatics and has worked as a software engineer on infrastructure for hosting websites. Prior to that, Flaviu has spent two summers as a research assistant working on methods for quantifying the complexity of high-dimensional datasets and improving the accuracy of DNA motif identification tools. Whenever he has time, Flaviu can be found reading, tinkering with different technologies, or training for triathlons.

Stephen is a machine learning scientist with a background in an eclectic mix of ML for computational biology and software engineering. Immediately prior to joining Dyno, Stephen graduated from Columbia with an MS, during which he worked on ML for genomics. Before that, he worked as an infrastructure/backend software engineer at Uber and at a startup called Compass before that. Outside of work, reading science fiction and history and going on meandering walks all fuel Stephen’s obsessive speculation over how we can accelerate scientific and technological progress.

Nicole Paulk, PhD is an Assistant Professor of AAV Gene Therapy at the University of California San Francisco Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics. She is a pioneer in next-generation AAV gene delivery and gene editing platforms. She has developed therapies for gene repair and gene transfer for numerous rare diseases, and has applied high-throughput comparative proteomic and epigenomic approaches to address challenges in fundamental AAV biology. She earned her B.S. in Medical Microbiology from Central Washington University, and her PhD in Viral Gene Therapy from Oregon Health & Science University.

Debora S. Marks, PhD is an Associate Professor of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School, and an Associate Member of the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Dr. Marks has led a distinguished career in academia and industry, and is an expert in the application of machine learning algorithms for protein design and engineering. She earned her B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Manchester, U.K., and her PhD in Mathematical Biology from Humboldt University, Germany.

Jorge Conde is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz where he leads investments at the cross section of biology, computer science and engineering.

Prior to joining a16z, Jorge served as Chief Strategy Officer for Syros (NASDAQ: SYRS), which is advancing a new wave of medicines that control expression of disease-driving genes to treat cancer and other diseases. He previously served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Product Officer, leading the platform strategy for Syros’ novel gene regulation technology. Jorge also cofounded Knome, a human genome interpretation company acquired by Tute Genomics in 2015. Earlier in his career, Jorge worked in marketing and operations at MedImmune and as a biotechnology investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

Jorge holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and a BA in Biology from Johns Hopkins University.

Jorge was named one of the top 35 young innovators in the world by the MIT Technology Review and is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He previously served on the board of the Museum of Science, Boston.

Joyce received her Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Los Angeles in Biochemistry, with a minor in Society and Genetics. As an undergraduate, she studied alternative splicing of mRNA in yeast and its implications in gene regulation. Her previous work in the Kosuri Lab at UCLA focused on DHFR variant libraries and their functional complementation in E. coli. At Manus Bio, she contributed to the engineering of microbes for the production of natural plant compounds. Joyce loves to eat and cook food from different cuisines. She also enjoys crafting and trying out new activities.

Zac is a molecular biologist with a background in vector design, in vivo and in vitro pharmacology Prior to joining Dyno, Zac worked in industry startups Synlogic and Senda Biosciences where he worked in vector engineering and platform design. He graduated from Northeastern University, where he completed multiple co-ops including working in the Tufts Medical Center Pathology and Hematology clinical lab and as a in vivo pharmacologist with Synlogic. He enjoys cooking, baking, and playing video games in his free time.

Ian is a biologist with experience in an array of single-cell-omics. He received a BS in Biochemistry and a BS in Linguistics from Northeastern University, as well as a MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Brandeis University. Post masters, Ian worked in the Klein lab and the Single Cell Core at Harvard Medical School providing support functions for a number of single cell RNAseq applications. In his free time, Ian enjoys writing and performing music, and anything outdoors.

Arpan is a geneticist and molecular biologist with experience in leveraging classical genetics and advanced functional genomic approaches to investigate systemic metabolic traits. In his last role, Arpan worked as a Scientist optimizing methodologies for MERFISH based spatial transcriptomics. Arpan earned his PhD in Molecular Cellular Biology and Genetics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he investigated the role of TGf-β signaling in sugar metabolism. Arpan completed his postdoctoral training in Dr. Norbert Perrimon’s lab at the Harvard Medical School working at the interface of exercise biology, muscle health and muscle-derived signals that regulate lipid metabolism. He enjoys analog photography, gardening, and cooking.

Erik is an immunologist and gene therapist with experience developing and translating therapies to treat lysosomal storage diseases and AAV manufacturing. Erik earned his PhD in Immunology from Duke University where he investigated how microRNAs influence T cell survival and function. After one year of postdoctoral training with Dr. Steven Gray at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, he moved with the Gray Lab to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he worked to set up a new Gene Therapy Program and GMP AAV Manufacturing Facility. He enjoys baking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Jacob received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he concentrated in evolutionary biology and population genetics and participated in research focused on pollinator-mediated gene flow in plant populations. He has worked for several years in industry labs in the Boston area, most recently on Biogen’s Gene Therapy Cargo subteam where he worked to advance clinical candidate molecules to the lead identification stage. In his spare time he can be found hydroponic gardening, cooking and baking, or playing magic the gathering.

Alex is a chemical biologist with experience in biopolymer synthesis, laboratory automation, web development, and high-throughput sequencing. He earned his PhD in Chemical Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked with Brad Pentelute to develop a fully-automated flow chemistry platform for synthesizing peptides and proteins orders of magnitude faster than prior techniques. Before joining Dyno, he was a postdoc in George Church’s lab at Harvard Medical School, where he studied new methods for SARS-CoV-2 sequencing and genome editing in mammalian cells. While not in the lab or at the computer, Alex enjoys tending to his garden, playing the piano, cooking and baking, and spending time with his family and friends.

Carey is a scientific recruiter with three years of experience in the life sciences industry. She holds a BS in Biology and Health Sciences from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Dyno, Carey worked at Commonwealth Sciences where she was responsible for identifying top talent for research institutes as well as biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Greater Boston area. In her free time, Carey enjoys traveling, indoor cycling, and reading new book series’.

Marissa joined Dyno’s People Team after spending nearly ten years supporting candidates through the hiring process as a career coach. She holds a BA in Human Development from Boston College and an MSW from Columbia University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and getting outdoors.

Daniela is a molecular biologist with extensive experience in using next generation sequencing to investigate gene expression and regulation, epigenetics and imprinting. At Indigo Ag, she worked as a Core team lead to support R&D operations. Daniela also worked at Mass Eye and Ear – Harvard Medical School as the Associate Director of the Genomics Core. Daniela earned her PhD in Plant Pathology from University of Bologna, Italy, and did her post-doctoral training at UC Davis Genome Center, UC Berkeley and at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, yoga and spending time with her family.

Lochlin is an experimentalist with a broad technical foundation and is joining Dyno from Toxicology Core in the Powell Gene Therapy Center at the University of Florida, where he spent the last four years working as a biological scientist supporting GLP preclinical studies for AAV-mediated gene therapies. Lochlin recently completed his MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the lab of Dr. Robert McKenna at UF where he investigated novel inhibitors of carbonic anhydrases. In his free time, Lochlin enjoys spending time with his cats and partner, playing games with friends, and starting (and sometimes even finishing) arts & crafts projects.

Yvette brings a track record of success in biopharma commercial strategy and marketing. Prior to joining Dyno, Yvette served as a brand lead in the U.S. Hematology Marketing organization at Celgene (now Bristol-Myers Squibb). She successfully led the launch of three hematology brands, including R² (Revlimid^®/rituximab) for relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma or marginal zone lymphoma, ONUREG^® for continued therapy in acute myeloid leukemia, and REBLOZYL^® for anemia in myelodysplastic syndromes and beta-thalassemia. Prior to Celgene, Yvette was a strategy consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, where she managed project teams to provide strategic recommendations to life science clients. Her projects included commercial and growth strategy, M&A strategy and due diligence, R&D pipeline prioritization, and organizational scale-up across large pharma and biotech clients. Previously, Yvette also spent 8 years conducting academic lab research, including gene therapy approaches for neuroregeneration to treat Parkinson’s disease. Yvette holds an MBA in Health Care Management from The Wharton School and a BA in Chemical and Physical Biology from Harvard. She enjoys hiking, dancing, and foodie adventures.

Rishi is a scientist at the intersection of experimental and computational biology. Prior to joining Dyno, Rishi was a data scientist and led teams at Acorns (Fintech) and ConcertAI (Health Informatics); he also helped start Octant Bio which uses multiplexed measurements to develop better drugs. He holds a PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard Medical School and a BS in Physics from Harvard. In his PhD, he developed methods to understand how cells accurately divide up their organelles during cell division. He enjoys spending time outside with his wife and son.

David is a machine learning scientist with a background in biophysics. Previously, he received a PhD in Biophysics from UC Berkeley where he worked on a variety of research problems at the intersection of machine learning and protein engineering. In his free time, David enjoys cycling, sailing, and live music.

Lindsey is a research associate with experience in human genetics and is joining Dyno from the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. While at MGH, she studied the genetics behind dystonia, a neurological movement disorder, with a focus on X-linked dystonia-parkinsonism, a rare neurodegenerative disease. Lindsey received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she majored in biology and worked in an evolutionary biology lab. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, reading, and having fun with new recipes and art projects.

Emily is an experienced intellectual property attorney with a scientific background in physics. Prior to joining Dyno, Emily was an associate at Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C. where her practice was focused on patent prosecution in areas where software, electronics, and optical devices overlap with biotechnology, including bioinformatics, technologies implementing machine learning, and sequencing devices.  She has extensive experience handling prosecution matters in the biological-electrical-computational space and enjoys thinking about how best to develop an IP strategy and portfolio for these interdisciplinary technologies.  Emily graduated from Smith College with a BA in Physics before obtaining her PhD from Harvard and JD from Suffolk University Law School.  Outside of work, Emily enjoys cooking delicious vegan food, listening to live music, and finding ways to spend time outside by gardening, biking, and taking walks with her dog.

Abbie is a research associate on the Vector Production team. She previously worked in the Gene Transfer Vector CORE for Mass Eye and Ear with Luk Vandenberghe as a PI. She was there for two years following her graduation from the University of New Hampshire where she obtained a degree in Genetics with a minor in Psychology. In her undergraduate career she worked in a Neuroscience lab building brain implementation devices for rats that tracked the connections between prefrontal cortex and thalamus. In her spare time, she spends a lot of time with her family-mainly her 10 year old niece, baking, hiking, and being at the beach as much as possible!

Tim is a molecular biologist with a background in synthetic biology and vector design. He has several years of industry experience including his previous work at Indigo Ag where he led the molecular diagnostics team and most recently as a member of the synthetic biology team at LifeMine Therapeutics focusing on fungal strain engineering to boost secondary metabolite production. Tim received a BS in plant science from the University of Rhode Island and a MS in microbiology from Fordham University. In his spare time he can be found gardening, hiking, skiing and spending time with his family.

Ben is a molecular biologist with a background in NGS and high throughput laboratory automation. Before Dyno, Ben worked as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Noah clinical Laboratory where he performed molecular testing and facilitated new ways to increase sample capabilities via automated platforms. He received a BS in Genetics and Genomics from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and enjoys aquariums, skiing, and trying new foods.

Cameron is a machine learning engineer with academic and industry experience in data science and database management. Prior to working at Dyno, Cameron was a graduate student and research assistant at Brown where he completed his BS/MS in applied math-biology/data science and applied unsupervised machine learning tools to explore mRNA data patterns from cardiology patients at Rhode Island Hospital. In his free time, Cameron enjoys reading science fiction centered around AI ethics, writing music, playing rugby, and spending time outdoors.

Kosta has spent nearly 20 years developing, leading and executing human resources strategies, operations and processes that drive successful business, culture and people outcomes.  Prior to joining Dyno, Kosta was Director, Organizational Effectiveness at Valo, where he was responsible for developing and expanding the talent capabilities to help the organization scale, this included talent acquisition, talent management, performance management and compensation. Before Valo, he held various talent and human resources positions for a number of companies, in the biotech and information technology industries.  Kosta earned a BS in Economics and Finance from Bentley University.  When not at work, Kosta enjoys spending time with family and friends, building things and relaxing in the sun.

Mary is a passionate young professional excited to work in the biotech space to improve patient outcomes. She joins Dyno’s Talent Acquisition team after three years of experience in the Software Asset Management industry. She holds a BS in Business with a focus in Management Information System from the University of New Hampshire. In her free time, Mary enjoys cooking, staying active outdoors, and traveling.

Annie is a lab operations professional dedicated to the continuous improvement of all processes and procedures. She comes from a biotech background having worked in monoclonal antibody development at Green Mountain Antibodies and drug discovery lead optimization via HTS cell based assays at Bristol Myers Squibb. In her past roles, Annie was also heavily involved in lab operations including purchasing, equipment maintenance, SOP development and documentation. She graduated from Marist College with a BS in Biology and Environmental Science. In her free time, Annie likes to exercise, explore Boston, travel, snuggle with her kitty, or try out lots of different hobbies/crafts that fit her interests at the time.    

Halley is an operations professional committed to creative problem-solving, streamlining processes, and developing strategies for enhanced organization in both the physical and digital space. She is passionate about enhancing inclusion in diverse spaces and community-building through cultural programming. Before joining Dyno, Halley worked as a higher education program manager, overseeing student and faculty onboarding, and developing new policies and initiatives to enhance program experiences. In her free time, Halley enjoys baking and sharing her creations at tea parties with friends.

Jordan is a research associate with a background in clinical research, genome processing, and automation. He received a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Clark University where he completed a senior honors thesis on the relationship between epicardial fat and gene expression in cardiomyocytes. After graduating, he worked as a clinical research coordinator validating phase II/III investigational new drugs for migraines and ADHD. Jordan then transitioned to the Broad Institute as a process development associate preparing genome and exome libraries for NGS. In his free time, Jordan enjoys gaming, music, writing, and learning languages.

Amanda is a cell and molecular biologist, whose expertise is in retinal development and disease. During her PhD at the University of Toronto in Vince Tropepe’s lab, she utilized CRISPR gene editing to develop and characterize mutant zebrafish models for retinal diseases including deaf-blind disease Usher Syndrome. At Dyno, she hopes to further contribute to developing ocular gene therapies. Outside of science, Amanda enjoys photography, hiking, indoor houseplants and watching/playing with cute animals.

Katie’s introduction to NGS was metacommunity analyses during her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Univeristy of North Texas and Tarleton State University. She specialized in NGS via extensive library preparations of various sample inputs (soil, plant, water, human blood, etc.) targeting Illumina platforms at Texas A&M AgriLife and MEEI. Katie has an appreciation for machine guided design along with a desire to expand wet lab techniques, which drew her to Dyno. Katie fancies herself a sun goddess, thus she enjoys outdoor activities like ocean wave bobbing, hikes with her two blue heelers, and amatuer algae identification.

Ina is a scientist on the product development team with a background in computational biology and computer science. She holds a BA in Chemical and Physical Biology from Harvard and a PhD in Bioinformatics from UCSF. In her PhD work at UCSF, she developed models and image analysis approaches for investigating stem cell fate decisions using high-throughput screens. In her free time, Ina enjoys boardgames, hiking, and cooking.

David is a research scientist and computational biologist developing new methods for next generation sequencing. During his PhD and postdoc at the University of British Columbia, David developed a genomics platform to identify and characterize novel microbial species and bioproduct targets. As the head bioinformatician at UBC’s Sequencing and Bioinformatics core facility, he developed systems for NGS and long-read sequencing data processing and dissemination. In his free time, David can be found climbing, running, or skiing in the mountains around Vancouver, Canada.

Jeffrey is a machine learning scientist with a background in machine learning, statistics, and computational biology. Jeffrey holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a BS/MEng from MIT in Math and Computer Science. Prior to Dyno, Jeffrey has spent time working in the ML research teams at Google Research, Apple AI, and Uber AI. Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoys nothing more than a perfect bowl of food.

Caden is a passionate teammate and strategic thinker on the Business Operations Team, where he is excited to help enable cutting-edge science to transform patient lives. Prior to Dyno, he was on the strategy and development teams of Teneo, an Austin-based nonprofit network which supports nonprofit and public-sector entrepreneurs. Prior to that, Caden was a Leonard D. Scheaffer Fellow for Public Service, working on Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s policy team focused on innovation, healthcare, and transportation policy. Caden graduated from Harvard College with degrees in History and Social Studies, and he enjoys reading about the past and how we can remake the future.

Kathy is a computational biologist with expertise in machine learning and RNA biology. She completed her PhD in the Computational and Systems Biology program at MIT under David Bartel, where she developed biochemically informed models of miRNA targeting. Using high-throughput measurements of miRNA–target binding affinities in vitro, she modeled miRNA-mediated repression in vivo and built a machine learning framework for predicting miRNA–target binding affinities from sequence. Her work has been published in leading journals, including Science and Molecular Cell. She enjoys board games, video games, and cooking.

Nirmit is a software engineer with a background in artificial intelligence and finance. He received his B.A.Sc in Computer Science and his minor in Biology from Northeastern University. He has worked at Editas Medicine and Wellframe and has a passion for software development in the biotech industry. His final capstone project successfully created an algorithm to categorize songs by their moods based on a song’s lyrics. In his freetime, he enjoys trying new foods, skiing, and playing tennis.

Lisa is a pharma leader with over 20 years of experience in drug discovery R&D.  Most recently Lisa was Senior Director of Open Innovation with Bayer Pharmaceuticals and led early discovery S&E in the cell and gene therapy space.  Lisa managed several alliance portfolios focused on vascular and hemostatic disease at Bayer which advanced to clinical development.  She was directly involved in the launch and management of Bayer’s first CoLaborator incubator in San Francisco in 2012 and helped to bring 18 life science tenants to the incubator which collectively raised over $350M in the pursuit of revolutionary health innovations.  Prior to her role in Open Innovation, Lisa gained leadership and scientific experience in both small molecule and biologics drug discovery in the field of autoimmunity. She has several peer-reviewed journal publications and one Investigational New Drug submission.  Lisa earned her PhD form the University of California in San Diego and did her post-doc training as a cellular and molecular immunologist in Nilabh Shastri’s lab at UC Berkeley.  She enjoys sharing food and wine with family and friends and can be found on hiking trails in the Oakland hills with her dog or on the bay kayaking.

Abhishaike is a machine learning engineer with a background in medical imaging AI, physiological signal analysis, and clinical informatics. Prior to Dyno, he was at Elevance Health (previously known as Anthem) as a machine learning scientist, where he tinkered with multi-morbidity clinical risk scores, explainable AI methods, and creating research tools for epidemiologists. He graduated from UT-Dallas with a B.S. in Cognitive Science, where he spent time doing healthcare research at various industry and academic labs. He enjoys audiobooks, drawing, and going on long walks.

Thor is a research associate with a background in clinical diagnostics and automation-based protocols. Before Dyno, Thor worked as a Process Development Associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard where he performed molecular testing for COVID-19 and facilitated new ways to increase testing throughput via automated platforms. He received a Bachelors in Biology from Boston University and enjoys water sports, playing music, and reading.

Alex is a hybrid data scientist and molecular biologist. He earned his PhD in Genetics from Stanford University, where he worked on high-throughput yeast precision genome editing screens in Hunter Fraser’s lab. Prior to his PhD, he was a Build and Test Intern at Ginkgo Bioworks, working on automating yeast and bacterial molecular biology. Outside of work, Alex likes playing violin, baking, reading science fiction, powerlifting, and playing basketball.

Florence is a research associate with a background in biomedical research, oncology, and statistics. She obtained a B.A. in Biochemistry and Psychology from Smith College, during which she completed an honors thesis project on characterizing the anti-cancer therapeutic effects of an engineered protein that recognizes mesothelin tumor biomarkers. In addition, she participated in a neuroscience research evaluating how the expression of guidance molecules impacts post-optic commissure formation in the zebrafish forebrain through confocal laser scanning microscopy. In her free time, Florence enjoys hiking, playing badminton, kickboxing, 3D modeling, video editing, and watching musicals.

Tobi is a computational biologist with an extensive molecular biology and microbiology background. During his PhD at the NYU School of Medicine, he developed a package for the analysis of phospho proteomic data. Beyond academic science, Tobi helped grow the GRO Biotech initiative, an inter-institutional group of students aiming to bring students and postdocs in the life science in contact with industry professionals to explore career options. When he is not working, Tobi can be found baking Lebkuchen, pizza and other treats, playing Path of Exile, or cycling.

Meghan is a hybrid experimental and computational biologist with a background in toxicology, molecular biology, and genomics. She completed her PhD in the department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto focusing on the discovery of novel drug/radiation combinations to improve outcomes in squamous cancers. In her spare time, Meghan enjoys playing games with friends and family, biking, and reading.

Nick is an experienced research associate with over ten years of experience working in molecular biology. Nick received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and his M.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining Dyno, Nick has worked in stem cell biology, microbiology, mammalian genetics, and skin microbiome research. In his spare time he enjoys games, hanging out with friends, and baking.

Haley is a biologist with a background in transcription, NGS, and cancer biology. She completed her PhD in the Zon lab at Harvard where she studied developmental signaling in melanoma using the zebrafish as a model. In her spare time, Haley enjoys gardening, reading, video games, and spending time with her adorable cats.

Sam is a computational biologist with a background in immunology and NGS data analysis. Previously, he completed his PhD in the Winter Lab from Northwestern University where he studied the heterogeneity of macrophages from various tissues and diseases using single cell sequencing. In his spare time, Sam enjoys hiking, reading, video games, and planning his next travels.

Daniel is a data engineer with a background in bioinformatics. He obtained his PhD from Boston University, where he focused on predicting Alzheimer’s risk genes using genetic sequences studies and graph propagation. Being part of the team at Dyno is important to him since gene therapy brings together two of his academic passions—medicine and genomics. In Daniel’s free time, he’s an avid softball and volleyball player as well as an enthusiast for many strategy games, such as chess.

Brandon is a computational biologist with a background in microbiology, ecology, and bioinformatics. He earned his PhD in microbiology from the University of Georgia, where he studied the dynamics of microbial communities in the Amazon River and Atlantic Ocean. Brandon completed his post-doctoral training at MIT, and prior to joining Dyno, he spent 4 years as a computational biologist at Indigo Ag, an agricultural biotechnology startup. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, playing video games, photography, and spending time with his family and dog.

Mike is an expert at machine learning and MLOps. He has extensive experience in clinical bioinformatics, computer vision, end-to-end pipelining, and natural language processing. Recently, as part of a volunteer project for an international non-profit, he created a standalone end-to-end AI-powered search engine that automatically scans scientific journal articles to identify new and promising research and therapies in the longevity field. Mike holds a PhD in Physics from The Pennsylvania State University, with a graduate minor in Neuroscience. In his free time, Mike enjoys kayaking, strategy gaming, and rock climbing.

Brandon is a research associate with experience in protein and antibody purification. At his previous position, he helped to develop manufacturing processes for many rare diseases including Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Chronic Kidney Disease. He studied Bioengineering at Michigan State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree In Pharmacogenomics at the University of Cincinnati. He enjoys playing hockey, soccer, and volleyball with his friends as well as photography, card games, and cooking.

Theo is a machine learning scientist with interests in geometric deep learning and applications of computational techniques to drug discovery. Prior to joining Dyno, Theo received his MA in computer science from Wesleyan where he worked on developing deep reinforcement learning algorithms for small molecule design. Theo also completed his undergraduate education at Wesleyan where he studied math with a special interest in differential geometry. Beyond math and computers, Theo enjoys fiddling with synthesizers, going to techno shows, and climbing up rocks.

Brendan is a biologist that switch to operations, specializing in equipment and logistics. A Vermont native, he received a BS in Biology from Saint Michaels College in Burlington, VT. Brendan has a quality control and technical background from small start-ups and large manufacturing that helps him with daily problem solving and long term planning. When not at work, you will find Brendan playing video games, exploring his home state, planning his next scuba diving trip, and practicing his motorcycle skills.

Aashu is a computational biologist with experience in experimental design and data analysis for high-throughput experiments. Before joining Dyno, Aashu received his PhD in Neurobiology from Duke University working on olfaction. He enjoys cycling, working out, cooking good food, and eating even better food.

Chris is a molecular geneticist with a background in viral gene therapy. Before working at Dyno, he was the Assistant Director at Southwest National Primate Research Center. Chris earned his BS in Genetic Biology from Purdue University and his PhD in Molecular and Human Genetics from Baylor College of Medicine. He did his postdoctoral work at the Mayo Clinic and Yale University. In his free time, Chris enjoys running road races and reffing soccer.

Demarcus has a PhD in Bioinformatics where he developed mathematical models to automate the design of spatial patterning in 2D and 3D mutli-cellular systems. He joins Dyno with four years of industry experience developing computational approaches for multi-omic target/biomarker discovery and metabolite identification in foods. In his free-time, he also enjoy playing soccer, rock climbing, and competitive games like dominos and poker.

Trinh is a caring and passionate servant leader that conducts business in a psychological safety environment with fellow colleagues. Her priorities are people first, processes second, and systems third. When all three are executed and nurtured well, we will thrive and we will bring the cure to our patients. Trinh is known for her financial rigor and to encourage financial learning from the bottoms up; zero budgeting is part of her DNA. Trinh is a foodie, loves to cook, mentor others, and most of all, teach kids math!

Josh is a product development scientist with a background in optimization and probabilistic modeling. He received a PhD in Operations Research from MIT where he built models to solve problems in natural language processing, manufacturing defect detection, and pharmaceutical quality monitoring. Before MIT, he worked as an economic research analyst for Fidelity Investments and received a BS in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, and gardening.

Sarah is a computational biologist on the Biology team with a background in viral protein evolution. She completed her PhD in the Genome Sciences Department at the University of Washington. After, she was a data scientist at the cancer immunotherapy company 2seventy bio. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys knitting socks, biking, and reading.

Tyanne is a research associate with a background in viral vector production. While working on her BAS in Biotechnology from Santa Fe College, she interned with a CNS-focused AAV gene therapy start-up where she was hired on after graduation for their baculovirus & insect-cell platform. In November 2022, she left the Florida sun and insect cells on a 22 hour drive north to Boston for new adventures at Dyno. Her little joys in life are interior decorating and learning to cook with her partner, Jack.

Michael was previously a research technician in the University of North Carolina School of Medicine’s Gene Therapy System focusing on AAV therapies used to treat ultra rare diseases such as various types of MPS (mucopolysaccharidosis). He graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and spends time playing tennis, cooking, and reading—especially science fiction and fantasy books.

Julie is an operations specialist who enjoys making a difference in the biotech industry through supporting and elevating teams. Prior to joining Dyno, Julie spent ten years managing a corporate call center responsible for national consumer sales. She later moved into a role performing data analysis and was invigorated by the difference that can be made in the biotech industry. In her free time, Julie is an avid foodie and cook, road tripper, and fan of sudoku puzzles.

Josh Thomson is an IT professional with nearly 20 years of experience in a variety of technical support and network operations roles. He graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Political Science but soon found information technology to be a lot more interesting than politics. Before joining Dyno, he worked as a Systems administrator at The Grommet, an e-commerce site supporting small businesses in the U.S. At Dyno, his focus is on developing the IT infrastructure in support of the company’s mission. His hobbies include reading history and science fiction as well as playing tabletop role-playing games.

Dan received his PhD in Neuroscience from UNC-Chapel Hill. In his dissertation work he used a variety of viral genetic approaches to perform anatomical tract tracing and probe brain circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders. Prior to joining Dyno, he did a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University where he used AAV-based gene delivery to reduce protein aggregation in a model of Parkinson’s Disease. He particularly enjoys using automated approaches to analyze large microscopy data sets. Outside of lab his hobbies include running, skiing, travel, and surfing.

Miguel is a molecular biologist with a background in cell-based assays, gene editing, and molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and RT-qPCR. He graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and a Master of Science in Biotechnology. Prior to joining Dyno, Miguel completed multiple co-ops including working at KSQ Therapeutics where he played a role optimizing qPCR-based assay protocols for detecting CRISPR/cas9 gene editing efficiency. He enjoys traveling, meditating, camping, reading, and cooking healthy meals.

Adithya is a molecular biologist with a background in NGS, functional genetic screening, and genome engineering of yeast. He earned his PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of California Riverside in Dr. Ian Wheeldon’s lab. His work focused on developing CRISPR based gene editing tools and genome-wide screening approaches to determine the genetic underpinnings of industrially relevant phenotypes in the non-model yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. Over the course of his PhD, he has also managed a strain generation and characterization project for an Australian startup aimed at the microbial production of animal-free fats. In his free time, Adithya enjoys reading fantasy fiction, watching anime, listening to carnatic music, hiking, and hanging out with friends.

Russell is a project manager who is passionate about building collaborative systems that optimize workflows within cross-functional teams. Prior to joining Dyno, he worked at Biogen and Rubius Therapeutics as a process development subject matter expert (SME) in a multi-disciplinary team working in the cell and gene therapy modality. He took on several other responsibilities in parallel to lab work to learn core competencies in technology transfer and project management. Russell has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from RPI. Outside of work, he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, snowboarding, spending time with his friends, and doing puzzles.

Melanie is a research associate on the Single Cell Team. She received her BS in Computational Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and recently graduated with her MS in Biotechnology from Northeastern University. Prior to joining Dyno, she completed a co-op at Oncorus where she analyzed scRNA-seq data to better understand the glioblastoma tumor microenvironment. She also contributed to an Alphavirus discovery platform cloning various SFV constructs. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, going to concerts, and trying out new restaurants and coffee shops.

Sofia is a business development and strategy professional who loves to work at the intersection of science and business. Prior to Dyno, Sofia worked at Evelo Biosciences where she led a drug discovery program for metabolic diseases, and more recently joined the BD team, focusing on partnering efforts for the company’s assets and platform technology. She completed her PhD in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, as a visiting student from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. In her PhD work, she employed cutting-edge metabolomics and proteomics approaches to elucidate how distinct metabolic fuels regulate neuronal excitability in the context of epilepsy. Outside the lab, she was a co-director of the Harvard Healthcare Innovation and Commercialization course and a fellow with the Harvard Biotech Incubator. She enjoys cooking and baking, listening to audiobooks, traveling, and has recently discovered a passion for whitewater kayaking.

Kimberly Insigne is a computational biologist developing automated analysis pipelines for next generation sequencing. During her PhD in Bioinformatics at UCLA, she worked on learning sequence-function relationships from massively parallel reporter assays. Between her PhD and joining Dyno, she spent three years as a data scientist in e-commerce (FabFitFun, Tradesy). Outside of work you can find her knitting, running, climbing, or playing with her two dogs or two cats.

Nora is an infrastructure engineer with over 10 years of experience designing, improving and building distributed computing systems and high-impact engineering teams. She has helped NASA to modernize their Petabyte-scale Earth Observation data processing pipeline, lead teams to deliver novel Machine Learning Platforms at Twitter, and presented her work on Kubernetes, Istio and Spinnaker to a crowd of over 800 at Google Cloud Next. Nora earned her Bachelors of Computer Science at Old Dominion University in 2014. When she isn’t doing engineering, she can be found gardening, reading Sci-Fi, or riding her motorcycle around Virginia.

Aiswarya is a biochemist specializing in NGS and RNA biochemistry. She received her PhD in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University and followed it up with a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining Dyno, she was at Skyhawk Therapeutics, where she was responsible for developing NGS based screening methods. In her free time, Aiswarya enjoys reading, taking her dog on walks, playing video games, and board games.

Neha is a machine learning scientist with a background in deep learning and statistics. Neha completed her undergraduate studies at MIT where she majored in Computer Science and Mathematics. During her Masters program at MIT, Neha studied the phenomenon of transfer learning in over-parameterized machine learning. Prior to joining Dyno, Neha was a machine learning engineer at Valo Health, where she worked on patient featurizations and generative chemistry. Outside of work, Neha enjoys running, hiking, baking, and travel.

Vivian is a collaborative relationship manager committed to the success of our partners. A Bay Area native, she received a BS in Biology from Dominican University and has since worked at various rare disease companies including Biomarin, Ultragenyx, and Astellas Gene Therapies. Vivian applies her project management and alliance management background to problem solve, organize, and effectively communicate among internal and external partners. In her spare time, Vivian loves puzzles, scoping the local farmers’ markets, and cooking elaborate meals for friends.

Barbara is an image analyst on the Biology team, with a background in cell biology. She received her PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She did her postdoctoral work at the Imaging Platform at the Broad Institute. In her free time, Barbara enjoys going on adventures with her family.

Liyin has a background in bioengineering and computational biology. Prior to joining Dyno, she completed her PhD at Harvard University, where she studied single-virus/single-cell genomics using droplet microfluidics and computational methods. Outside of work, she enjoys doing yoga and spending time with her family.

Luke is an environment, health, and safety (EHS) professional dedicated to supporting safe and compliant workplaces. Prior to joining Dyno, Luke worked as an EHS Specialist at GreenLight Biosciences where he led effective programs including laboratory safety, occupational health, and emergency response. He is passionate about promoting a strong safety culture through communication, leadership, and a positive attitude. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Westfield State University. Outside of work, Luke enjoys doing outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family.

Iris is an accounting professional with over 15 years of experience working in both corporate and public accounting. Prior to joining Dyno, she was an accounting consultant at Browne Consulting, where she led a team of 8 professionals to provide a variety of operational accounting services to her life science clients. Prior to Browne Consulting, Iris served as Director of Finance at Omega Therapeutics, where she played a pivotal role with the S-1 process, as well as the subsequent financial reporting requirement and SOX compliance after Omega became a public company. Iris is a certified public accountant, and she holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Washington. In her free time, she enjoys doing puzzles, traveling, and doing crafts with her kids.

JJ is a research associate on the Vector Production team. They were previously a research technician working for Mass Eye and Ear in the Vector Production Core, focusing on manufacturing high quality AAVs and improving AAV yield and quality. They graduated from the University of New Haven with a bachelor’s degree in Genetics and Biotechnology. In their free time, JJ enjoys drawing, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Roshana is a research associate on the single cell team. Prior to joining Dyno full time, she was an intern on the single cell team and worked on the preparation of NGS libraries for sn-RNAseq. She completed her Master’s in Biotechnology at Texas A&M University while also working as a teaching assistant in the Department of Chemistry at the university. She was also a student researcher for a semester at the Cirillo lab at Texas A&M where she worked on the expression and purification of SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins using mammalian cells. In her spare time, Roshana loves to knit and watch TV shows with friends. She’s currently teaching herself how to crochet and hopes to learn how to embroider, too!

Bobby is a software engineer focused on cloud infrastructure and reliability. He’s spent the last decade helping healthcare and SaaS companies scale their software and engineering orgs. Bobby holds dual Computer Science and Computer Engineering degrees from Missouri University of Science & Technology. He’s often found jamming to his latest musical finds or riffing on terrible movies with his friends.

Akosua is a machine learning scientist passionate about fostering close collaborations between computational scientists and laboratory experts to accelerate biological discovery. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley for her work on machine learning-guided library design, and previously worked with Google Brain’s Genomics team as a part of the inaugural class of the Google AI Research Residency program. Akosua completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford where she studied statistical learning and bioinformatics. You are most likely to find her cooking up something spicy, crafting new knitted garments, or practicing her personal training!

Alice is a science communication specialist with a background in genetics research and interactive design. They earned a dual degree from Yale University, where they focused on conveying complex biological concepts to a broader audience through illustration and animation. Before Dyno, Alice worked at the Villani Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, investigating cancer immunology using single cell methods. On weekends Alice can be found painting, biking around with their film camera, or exploring local museums.

Jude Verdieu is am an RA I on the Manufacturing team (Platform). In the past he has worked at Tessera Therapeutics on the Synthetic Biology team. Jude has a Bachelors degree in Biology and Biotechnology, as well as a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering, both from Tufts University. Jude has two sisters and in his free time he enjoys playing basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Elyse started her career working in health insurance and then transitioned into biotech. Elyse enjoys helping companies and teams operate more functionally by utilizing organizational tools and check ins. In addition, planning company events where people can get to know one another and also give back to the community is very important. In her free time, Elyse enjoys doing arts & crafts (especially photography), being with her family (2 kids and a dog) and travelling. Elyse’s dream vacation is to go on a Safari in Africa.

Crystal has about 20 years experience in all aspects of Intellectual Property (IP) practice for biotechnological innovations. Prior to joining Dyno, Crystal was Head of IP at Iveric Bio, where she developed and executed the company’s overall IP strategy. Prior to Iveric Bio, Crystal developed and managed an extensive patent portfolio for REGENXBIO and was also instrumental in licensing, EP oppositions, US post-grant proceedings, and patent litigation. Prior to REGENXBIO, Crystal gained over 10 years expertise at international law firm, JONES DAY, in patent prosecution, patent licensing, IP due diligences, oppositions, and patent litigation. Crystal obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and JD from Fordham University Law School. Outside of work, Crystal enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family.

Priya is a computational biologist with experience in design and data analysis for high-throughput, multi-omic experiments. She completed her PhD in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program at Harvard in the lab of Jeff Macklis, where she developed molecular and computational approaches to study the kinetics of axonal RNA transport in vivo over the course of brain development. Before that, Priya studied computer science at MIT and dabbled in ML approaches for optimizing antibody affinity to an antigen. In her free time, you can find Priya listening to a podcast while rowing or running on and around the Charles River.

Viktoria is passionate about building teams and technologies to solve complex problems in biology. Prior to joining Dyno Therapeutics, she was a founding scientist of the cancer diagnostic company, Harbinger Health, and the precision immunology company, ImmuneID. She has developed cutting-edge next generation sequencing assays to detect cancer, study host-pathogen interactions, and map pathogenic antibody interactions that drive immune diseases. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from UC Berkeley and Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard University. In her free time, Viktoria enjoys hiking, rock climbing and spending time with friends and family.

Emma is a research associate on the vector production team. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Emma was first introduced to AAVs working at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at their viral vector research core. Here, she worked as program coordinator, overseeing AAV manufacturing and spearheading process development projects. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.

I’m Becca Servais, joining Dyno as Head of Facility Operations. I started my career as a bench scientist in drug discovery, and then transitioned to Lab and Facility Operations in 2014. I have an MA in Biology from Brown University and a BS in Biotechnology from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). In my spare time, I enjoy baking, knitting, outdoor activities, and travel.
